Summer of Love: Beth & Chris' Wedding Weekend

Brian's cousin, Chris, got married on Orcas Island this weekend, which was the perfect excuse for a long weekend on the Island!  This was our first Ferry ride with Sophie walking... Brian and I have spent years riding this Ferry, relaxing with the paper and a cup of coffee, watching parents chase their small children back and forth past the seats.  And now is our turn, so much for those nice, quiet rides for a while!

While we have a shocking lack of photos from the weekend, we had a fabulous time.  Here is an excellent shot of Chris and his bride, Beth at the Friday BBQ making some announcements, while Sophie appears to be escaping the attention of one of the family dogs (Pocky? Puffy?  Who can tell?).

Dad's Hat

This was our desktop image for quite a while.  Just one of those cute moments!

Breaking News!

Big news this week, Miss Sophie is officially walking!  While she has been "cruising" everything she can get her hands on for several months now, she has been shy about busting out on her own.  But all day Monday she kept testing distances between furniture, and by the time Brian got home, she was ready to go!  Here she is!

Fourth of July

The 4th found us at Meuterosa & Turtle's house for a BBQ.  Here are Sophie and Maddox in matchy-matchy outfits and funny chairs.
Sophie enjoying her very first popsicle.  Not quite sure about that.  You also may notice Miss Sophie is hanging out in her diaper and a hoodie... she discovered the dog's full water dish about five minutes after the previous picture and was soaked.  And I pick this week to decide that we really don't need to be carrying around a change of clothes in ther diaper bag...

Semi-Sweet

This summer has been awesome!  Sophie continued to spend Sundays with Grammy and Grandpa on Mercer Island, and with school out, she also got to spend Wednesdays with Auntie Anne Marie, who is a teacher.  Here she is at Samui being supercute in a big-girl chair.
Later, at home, playing.  Who's the little Hawaiian Princess?
"Can I help you?"
